Ranking Member Congressman Shri Thanedar demands Secretary Noem, directors of ICE and CBP, testify immediately before the Committee on Homeland Security
Washington, D.C. — Congressman Shri Thanedar issued the following statement after ICE’s killings in Minnesota.
“The killings in Minnesota are barbaric and unacceptable,” said Congressman Thanedar. “ICE is acting like a group of untrained thugs, not a professional law enforcement agency. They must leave Minnesota immediately.
As the Ranking Member of the Oversight, Investigations, and Accountability Subcommittee on the Committee on Homeland Security, I am calling for a full investigation into these incidents. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem and the directors of ICE and CBP must testify before the committee immediately so we can hold them accountable. The 7-week delay proposed by Chairman Garbarino is unacceptable when ICE is harming our communities every day.
"The Senate must reject the DHS funding bill and do everything possible to stop ICE from terrorizing our cities.”
Congressman Shri Thanedar proudly represents Michigan's 13th Congressional District, which includes Detroit, Downriver, and the Grosse Pointes.
