CONGRESSMAN SHRI THANEDAR ANNOUNCES TWO GRANTS TOTALING $1,207,152.00 FOR WAYNE STATE UNIVERSITY FOR AGING, DIABETES, ENDOCRINOLOGY AND METABOLIC RESEARCH
Washington, DC – Congressman Shri Thanedar released the following statement regarding two grants awarded to Wayne State University for Aging Research ($604,912.00) and Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic Research ($602,240.00):
“Research plays an important role in discovering new information. It can discover new things which were unknown, creating new perspective changing the way of traditional thinking. I am pleased to announce two grants that have been awarded to Wayne State University that will help in the areas of aging, diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic research.
“The National Institute on Aging within Wayne State University will receive a $604,912.00 grant that will research the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic on long term care for high need older adults with and without Alzheimers Disease and related Dementias. The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases within Wayne State University will receive a $602,240.00 grant that will research the regulation of NKCC2 and renal NaCl transport by protein interactions.
“Research is a strong technique to explore new concepts through proper analysis to take the right decision at the right time. Research is crucial for almost everyone irrespective of one’s career field-from doctors to lawyers, students to the research scholars of science stream, from communication to Arts, from professional people to those engaged in small unskilled work, conducting research gives better work. I am pleased that Wayne State University will be at the forefront when it comes to research in these areas.”
