Congressman Shri Thanedar Becomes Only Freshman to be Ranking Member of Two House Subcommittees
Washington, DC - Congressman Shri Thanedar was recently appointed Ranking Member of the Small Business Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight, Investigations, and Regulations. With this appointment, Congressman Thanedar is the only Freshman to be the Ranking Member of two subcommittees. Congressman Thanedar also serves as the Ranking Member of the Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security, and is committed to improving the lives of hard working families across Metro Detroit in these leadership roles.
“I am grateful to Ranking Member Velázquez for trusting me with this important leadership position” said Congressman Thanedar. “Her decision to make me the only Freshman this Congress to be a Ranking Member on two subcommittees is a testament to the hard work I am doing on behalf of my constituents across Metro Detroit. Having experienced the challenges of running a small business myself, I recognize the urgent need to cut through the jargon of the bureaucracy and provide clear, concise, and accessible information and regulations to our nation's small business owners. In this new role, I look forward to continuing my focus on the real-world issues that affect our country’s small businesses: capital access, a strong workforce, and creating easy to understand regulations.
